What We are Reading, Watching and Playing Lately

Currently we are reading The Griffin's Riddle by Suzanne Selfors, it's the 5th book in the Imaginary Veterinary Series. We've been reading the whole series and are on Book 5 now. Amazingly, Mister 4, who has previously been driving me crazy interrupting me whenever I would read has not only been listening to Selfors' tale silently but begging me to read more and pestering me to pick up the next book at the library as soon as the one we are on is over. I read this whole series a couple years ago with Miss 7 and she's still enjoying it this time around. I wish we had more than one more book left!

We are also reading Dragon's Milk by Susan Fletcher. We started it actually while we were waiting for the next Imaginary Veterinary Book to come in. It is also being enjoyed by both Miss 7 and Mister 4! It was the first chapter book I remember "reading" as a kid. My dad read it to me. I met the author at school and got her book and we read it on his boat while on a fishing trip. A really great childhood memory actually.

We just finished re-watching Season One of Trollhunters on Netflix in preparation for Season Two being released tomorrow! Woo! We've been studying troll lore (see the Troll Unit Study!) and it was fun to see how the legends have been worked into the story. Knowledge makes things more fun!

Another thing we've all been enjoying together is watching The Magician's Code on Netflix. The kids were interested by the picture and the description so we gave it a try and it turned into a passion for Mister 4 and it's fun for Miss 7, Miss 3 and me as well. In fact, the kids have decided we can't watch it unless we are all together :).

And just a couple days ago we got a Bloxels box from the library and Miss 7 and Mister 4 have been creating their own pixel characters and trying to make their own game. We haven't really figured it out yet, but luckily we get to keep it for two weeks so we have time.
