Our oldest Miss 7, loves dragons. Anything she can learn about dragons...she is all over it. When she was three she sang a little made up ditty that went like this
Don't touch dragons
You don't know...
Because...
You might get burned.
Very wise.
So anything with "dragons" in the title is a winner. We are currently reading "Dragon's Milk" by Susan Fletcher and studying creatures from folk-lore around the world. It seemed like the perfect time to give it a try and play with our kids - even though my husband and I have never played before.
I am the DM. Miss 7 is a human folk hero, Mister 4 is a quiet knight, Miss 3 went somewhere else to play though I think her character will join our party next time since she heard so much laughter coming from the kitchen. My husband was a halfling (I still don't know what that is) reformed criminal. It was hilarious.
Miss 7 really got into her character and added lots more information to the game, Mister 4 played his quiet character very intensely and threw a couple horses with his strength. At one point I played as a goblin that was captured and I was interrogated by my husband and children. That was pretty funny.
My kids always want me to play pretend with them and I'm all...how do I do that again? D&D is bringing the imaginative play back! Very fun, can't wait to play again tomorrow.
